چکیده

The black hole solutions in the higher dimensional BransDicke-Maxwell theory are investigated. We find that the presence of the nontrivial scalar field depends on the spacetime dimensions (D). WhenD = 4, the solution corresponds to the Reissner-Nordström black hole with a constant scalar field. In higher dimensions (D > 4), one finds the charged black hole solutions with the nontrivial scalar field. The thermal properties of the charged black holes are discussed and the reason why the nontrivial scalar field exists are explained. Also the solutions for higher dimensional Brans-Dicke theory are given for comparison.

Static and rotating electrically charged black holes in three-dimensional Brans-Dicke gravity theories

We obtain static and rotating electrically charged black holes of a Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory of the Brans-Dicke type in (2+1)dimensions. The theory is specified by three fields, the dilaton φ, the graviton gμν and the electromagnetic field Fμν , and two parameters, the cosmological constant Λ and the Brans-Dicke parameter ω. It contains eight different cases, of which one distinguishes a...

Rotating black branes in Brans–Dicke theory with a nonlinear electromagnetic field

This paper is devoted to obtaining a class of rotating black brane solutions of Brans–Dicke theory in the presence of a power Maxwell-invariant source. Since the field equations include the second derivatives of the scalar field, we cannot solve them, directly. Therefore, we first obtain the solutions of Einstein-dilaton gravity in the presence of a nonlinear Maxwell field, and then, by using a...

Evolution of Black Holes in Brans-Dicke Cosmology

We consider a modified “Swiss cheese” model in the Brans-Dicke theory, and discuss the evolution of black holes in the expanding universe. We define the black hole radius by the Misner-Sharp mass and find the time evolution for dust and vacuum universes.

Cold scalar-tensor black holes coupled to a massless scalar field

New four-dimensional black hole solutions of Brans-Dicke equations with a negative constant ω, coupled to a massless scalar field, are presented. The temperature of these black holes is zero and the horizon area is infinite. An astrophysical application is also discussed. Scalar-tensor theories of gravity are considered as the most natural generalizations of general relativity. From theoretical...

String and Brans-Dicke Theories

We present the static, spherically symmetric solutions of the low energy d = 4 string. They form a simple generalisation of the Schwarzschild solution and describe the gravitational field of a spherical star in perturbative string theory. If the Robertson parameter γ is different from one, these solutions describe singular objects with naked singularities at their horizons, and whose Hawking te...
